Never Alone cancer fundraiser 1 - Sun 13th Dec 2020

Hosted live on Twitch.tv, Sun 13th Dec 2020 which lasted for 12 hours, broadcasted globally to reach fundraisers across different countries. With the pandemic keeping us all safely locked away, we still wanted to feel that connection. We adapted and used this virtual platform to remind us that it is still possible to feel united. 

Our aim for this event was to bring people together through good music and well-being activities. To address a similarity that sadly many of us have in common; losing or knowing someone that has been affected by Cancer. 

We believe it is important to start a dialogue that addresses Cancer and how it can severely affect 1 in 2 of us. In particular, we want to shine light on rare & less common Cancers.  

Current data shows that 47% of cancers diagnosed are rare and less common cancers, yet they account for 55% of cancer deaths.*  source www.cancerresearchuk.org/cancer-info/cancerstats/ *

We had incredible activities involving yoga, sound bath healing, open & inspiring conversations about grief & experiences of losing loved ones. Followed by uplifting live DJ sets from around the world.

Jeff ended the event with a bang and played uplifting disco, house and timeless classics. It was a true celebration to thank our supports for their donations, involvement and loving energy.

We're blessed to say our hearts were full from all of the love, support & generosity that enveloped our first fundraiser. Thanks to our 86 supporters we raised an incredible £2,506 for Cancer52 

These funds will go towards much need and important research and treatment for less common and rare cancers.

With the affects of Covid-19 and the lockdown, many cancer treatments and diagnosis has be severely impacted. Funding has steeply decreased at such a crucial time so now more so than ever we need to continue to support our cancer charities.
